IELTS Practice: Education
Hello, my dear student!
Congratulations! You have finished the lessons of Module 1 at Competent level. Now it is time to use everything together, under exam conditions.
This lesson has no new language. Each part is one section of the IELTS test on education: Listening Sections 1 and 3, two Reading passages, Writing Task 1 and Task 2, and Speaking Parts 1 and 3. Use what you learned: wait for corrections in Listening, compare the strength of statements in Reading, choose the tense from the time frame in Task 1, keep one position throughout Task 2, and give developed, accurate answers in Speaking.
Work as if it were the real test. Each part has a time limit and the clock does not stop; you get one try for each question. At the end you see an estimated band for each skill. It is a rough guide from a few questions, not an official score.

Before you start
A quick reminder of the method for each section.
Listening: the speaker says “Tuesday”, then “sorry, Thursday”. What do you write?
Reading: the text says “may help”, the statement says “has been proven to help”. What do you check?
Writing Task 1: a graph from 2000 to 2020 with a projection to 2030. Which tenses?
Writing Task 2: where must your position appear?
Speaking: what makes a band 6.5 Part 1 answer?
Now it’s your turn!
8 short parts, each a little harder than the one before. Take your time: mistakes are how we learn.
